In order to respond to the voices of customers who are concerned about environmental protection and global warming, Paramita Corporation and Sakai Moving Center Co., Ltd. have jointly developed a new moving plan called “Ethical Moving” that is CO2-free and contributes to reforestation.

What is Ethical Moving?

This is a plan that allows you to offset CO2 emissions generated during your move by adding 1,000yen (tax included) to your moving fee.

[Benefits of participating in the plan]

  • Promotion of forest conservation and regeneration activities equivalent to the amount of CO2 emitted and absorbed by moving
  • Restoration of the ecosystem of the entire watershed through forest conservation and restoration activities
  • Preventing sediment runoff from heavy rainfall and reducing the risk of landslides and other disasters
  • Launching a new educational system to reestablish a relationship with forests (nature) and develop human resources who can live in harmony with nature

[How the plan works]

  1. Call Sakai Moving Center and decide the date of your move.
  2. Move as usual on moving day
  3. Few days after the move, receive a digital artwork as a proof of ethical moving
  4. Six months to a year later, receive the results of the forest conservations and regeneration activities

Although the effects are not immediate, it is still nice that the mover can receive the results.  I wonder if this will be the start of similar efforts by other moving companies?

Ultimately though, I hope that no matter which plan you choose, the move can help promote forest conservation and reforestation activities.

Would you choose this?
