[BC Interview] Behind the brands - PARA

There are over 20 brands that Borderless Creations are sourcing from. We’ve introduced the brands and their products but who are the people behind the brands? What are their thoughts?
We asked the same 10 questions to all the brands so that you can get a better understanding of the brands and their stories.
First up is PARA from Thailand!
Today we interviewed Ms. Orakarn Sayatanan, the Founder and Director of PARA.

Q1) What triggered you to tackle ethical and sustainable issues?
A1) Global warming issue! A climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. This problem is increasing day by day. That's why I have become more aware of this problem and global warming issue so I was starting more supportive of using reusable products before crating PARA.

Q2) What has changed from when the brand started and now?
A2) Firstly , the eco-knowledge of people. When I started PARA, the eco trend is not that big. Thanks for the time, people value the eco product and help the world in the better way. Currently, people have become more aware of global warming issue and prefer eco-products for daily life.

Q3) What was the hardest part of developing your brand? On the contrary, what was the best thing about continuing the brand?
A3) I worked very hard to bring PARA to the real life as the products itself and concept of the brand are new for that time. This was the hard time when I had to push my innovation to every life of people, when introduce something really new. After PARA was launched and I got very incredible feedback from Thailand and European market, I feel very happy and addicted to improve PARA every single days. Moreover, after PARA become known, the hardest part is myself because I have had to deal and manage everything of the whole business as a real entrepreneur life. Of course It's hard but the hardest part turn me to be a better version of myself and see the world more green and beautiful. This might be another reason why I am continuing PARA.

[About PARA]
The founder and designer of PARA was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She received a Master in Product Design in 2016 in Milan, Italy and a Bachelor of Industrial Design in 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand. She is a designer and social entrepreneur looking to add value to one of Thailand’s top commodity: natural rubber. Her designs include lifestyle products with eco-minded concept.
Natural rubber is originally derived from latex found in the sap of rubber trees from Thailand, the first largest producer and exporter of natural rubber in the world. PARA started from the aspect of sustainability; rubber trees have a long life so, they also help the soil erosion problem as they are running off water on soil surface.

[WORLD NEWS] Reusable cups mandatory in stadiums
The new requirements from the Packaging Act have been in force since January 1, 2023 in Germany. They oblige companies such as restaurants, canteens, supermarkets or cafes that sell takeaway food and drinks to also offer their products in reusable packaging. Big changes are also taking place in German soccer stadiums!

Family Festival at the International School of the Sacred Heart is back after a few years of hiatus! The school is co-founder Yu-Ching’s alma mater and we’re excited that Borderless Creations will have a booth at the shopping bazaar!
