GUPPYFRIEND® Washing Bags [Part 1 of 2]

Evolution of the new model (Comparison with the old model)

The GUPPYFRIEND® Washing Bag, improved in the last year, has changed its material from nylon (polyamide) to polyester.

This means that the improvement is in line with the Western style of washing, which is mainly done in warm water.

I looked up the properties of nylon and found that it seems to be a bit more heat sensitive than polyester. Perhaps this is why, in our household where we sometimes wash in warm water (max 40°C), the folded wrinkles started to show up after a few months of use. The older model in the photo has been in use for about a year and a half, and this is what it looks like now.

The mesh is clogged and shows significant shrinkage, and above all, I am concerned about the stiffness of the mesh.

Next, let's talk about the improved model. The material has been changed to polyester, and the material is thinner than the old model. But this one is very easy to use because it less firm. Here is one that has been in use for about two months.

There are few wrinkles and no stiffness. It looks very good!

Next, let's look at the specifications near the zipper.

First, the zipper has been changed from metal to plastic. We are told that this is so that when the bags are finally disposed of due to damage, etc., they can be separated as recyclable resources.

Also, the space for microfibers to accumulate is much larger than in the previous model. Microfibers that have been worn out by washing accumulate at both ends near the zipper and can be visualized, making it easy to check and remove them, which we felt was a big advantage.

What do you think? The GUPPYFRIEND® Washing Bag, now even easier to use, is effective not only for washing synthetic fibers, but also for washing natural and delicate materials.

They reduce frictional damage between clothes, which is very much appreciated to make clothes last longer.

It's a must-have item for each and every household!
