There are over 20 brands that Borderless Creations are sourcing from. We’ve introduced the brands and their products but who are the people behind the brands? What are their thoughts?
We asked the same 10 questions to all the brands so that you can get a better understanding of the brands and their stories.
Today we interviewed Mr. Noel Abdayem, the Founder of The Humble Co.

Q1) What triggered you to tackle ethical and sustainable issues?
A1) It started when I volunteered on Jamaica as a dental student. I was particularly struck by two things: first, not everybody owns a toothbrush, second, the beaches were full of old plastic toothbrushes that had washed up on land from the ocean. Being raised in Sweden, I never really thought of a toothbrush as something not everybody could afford. My eyes were opened. Once I got back to Sweden, I investigated the opportunity to create a biodegradable toothbrush. This eventually led to the Humble Brush and The Humble Co.
Q2) What has changed from when the brand started and now?
A2) There is a growing awareness of environmental issues within the dental sector. We can see that by the growing number of requests we get from dental practices and dentists. There is definitely a lot more that can be done as there is still a great amount of single use plastics used within the dental sector. Patients have a lot of power to influence dentists at their local dental practice to look into alternatives.
Q3) What was the hardest part of developing your brand? On the contrary, what was the best thing about continuing the brand?
A3) The hardest part was to enter a market that is primarily dominated by big corporations. It has been a long but rewarding struggle to get listed with different retailers. The best thing with our work is our cooperation with Humble Smile Foundation, where their projects are directly funded with each purchase of our products.
Q4) Tell us about someone that you know who are working on being sustainable. What kind of activity/initiative is this person doing?
A4) We love blogs and Instagram accounts that promote different eco-friendly and sustainable ideas that you can incorporate in your daily life.
Q5) What is your favorite quote? And why do you like it?

A6) Start something that matters by Blake Mycoskie is inspiring and definitely worth a read.
Q7) If you can eat ANYTHING now, what would it be?
A7) Poké Bowl with vegan salmon
Q8) If you can go ANYWHERE now, where would you like to go?
A8) I would definitely go to Italy and eat a good pizza.
Q9) Any other country or city you want to live?
A9) When it's winter in Sweden, I sometimes dream of living in a warmer city, but Stockholm is a beautiful city so I would still choose it.
Q10) What are you most mindful of when you think of your lifestyle?
A10) Slow living to be more present in the daily life.
